A recent promotion means that our household name client is seeking a new 2nd Line Support Engineer to join their customer driven technology team.

This is a really exciting time to join this prestigious brand that also gives back by supporting local community initiatives as well as further afield.  And it's an amazing opportunity to make a great impression in arguably one of THE most exciting IT/   tech support environments.

You will have a minimum of 3 years experience within a 2nd line Support position and will join a super friendly and knowledgeable team of IT service professionals. 

Tech wise you will excellent all round knowledge of Windows and MacOS desktop operating system experience with recent experience of Windows 10, Office 365 and Active Directory.  Knowledge of windows server operating systems would be a bonus, particularly an awareness of what services sit on windows server, the ability to be able to remote on to servers and make checks such as diskspace availability.  Experience within an ITIL environment and TCP/IP network configuration would also be desirable.

You will have a driving license also as some out of hours work may be required - but excellent over time is paid :-)

This role would suit someone with a varied technical background gained.  Not necessarily in depth across all areas but certainly a good background with 1st and 2nd Line support within a Windows desktop and server IT infrastructure environment with exposure to networking and / or security.

Not only will you have good technical skills but also excellent customer service experience – we are looking for people who not only want to progress their IT career (lots of opportunity) but who have a real passion for IT and importantly a genuine desire to help and therefore provide the best possible service through IT, delivering a fantastic customer experience.

The technical environment includes:

  • Active Directory
  • Windows Server 2012 / 2016 /2019
  • Windows 10
  • 1st and 2nd Line Technical Support
  • VMware (nice to have)
  • Management of Active Directory environments including Group Policy
  • Cloud Services (microsoft 365) – nice to have
  • ITIL awareness preferred
  • Accreditations such as MCP, MCSA or MCSE would be nice
  • Have a keen sense of service with excellent communications skills
