As 3rd Line Technical Support Engineer working in this newly created role within our award-winning client, your key focus will be to deliver exceptional 3rd line troubleshooting and incident management expertise for two business critical applications.

Taking responsibility for the tickets and triage and resolution of live system issues and incidents will be a key part of this role. Ensuring changes to the systems have positive impacts as well as proactively monitoring the technical environment will also be part of the role.

As 3rd Line Technical Support Engineer we are looking for a broad mix of technical skills including a combination of some, or all, of the following:  basic level of Windows Server skills, MS SQL / MSSQL, Java, SQL, HTML, CSS and JavaScript.  The core business applications to be supported are web-based workflow systems, programmed in Java with a web frontend that link into live production systems so experience of supporting Java based / web-based business critical applications and associated technologies such as JBOSS or Tomcat preferable.

The problem resolution might sit within another department, so we are looking for a Support Engineer who has Incident Management and Major Incident Management experience who can identify the root cause of the problem and liaise with the relevant internal department, or 3rd party supplier, to progress resolution. Excellent stakeholder management skills are essential.

The ideal person will have Windows Server, Java, SQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript application support or application development experience and understands ITIL processes such as change management in terms of application configuration, and experience of Incident Management and major incidents.

This is a newly created role within a growing team. Career progression into more senior roles such as Team Leader or moves into other departments internally are available.
