We are looking for an experienced Project Manager with a proven track record of managing the end-to-end delivery of IT projects, both new technologies and software who also enjoys business analysis.
Maybe you have worked as a Business Analyst or a Business Systems Analyst and moved into Project Management?
This hybrid role will see you working closely with the senior stakeholders to elicit business requirements and then turn the requirements into projects which you will then own and deliver.
As an IT Project Manager you will be responsible for delivering a wide range of projects which could vary from technical integration, finance and procurement / purchasing software, business change, data governance, ecommerce etc and may span the software development life cycle / SDLC.
Excellent control and good practice within project management is essential. A Prince 2 accreditation would be desirable however the use of robust project management methodologies, systems and practices to successfully deliver projects is more important than the specific framework used.
The role includes:
- Day to day management of concurrent IT projects
- Manage the project activities on a day-to-day basis on behalf of the sponsor. Define and be accountable for the approach and milestone dates. Maintain the plan in a controlled manner to take account of changes.
- Identify and secure internal and external resources required to execute the project. Build a high performing team with the right blend of skills for the work.
- Identify project risks and agree appropriate actions to mitigate/control. Regularly review risk assessment. Ensure residual risks are incorporated within the appropriate business area’s operational risk plans
- Pro-actively manage issues, taking action to achieve urgent resolution and escalating promptly and clearly where necessary
- Lead the shaping of the project, contributing ideas, optimising scope to achieve the business objectives and validating viability. Challenge existing thinking, processes and procedures and identify opportunities for change.
This position is commutable within East Cheshire, places like Macclesfield, Knutsford, Alderley Edge, Stockport, Poynton, Congleton and Staffordshire, Stoke, Nantwich, Crewe etc. Commutable by train, too.
