IT Support Technician

IT Support Technician / IT Support Analyst within a Microsoft Window environment (Office 365, Windows 10, Active Directory, Exchange) required to join the existing team of this thriving and growing company who boast a blue chip client base.

Working for this extremely interesting client, as IT Support Technician you will be responsible for the provision of best in class IT support service within an exciting environment. You will also be involved in project work and be able to build upon your strong desktop support skills by gaining exposure to general networking and server technology - DHCP, DNS, switches, routers, cabling.

2nd Line Support / IT Support / Desktop Support and project work!

Not only will you have good technical skills but also excellent customer service experience – we are looking for people who not only want to progress their IT career (lots of opportunity) but who have a real passion for IT Support and importantly a genuine desire to help and therefore provide the best possible service through IT, delivering a fantastic customer experience.

Duties and skills required will be varied and so you must be adaptable, they could include providing day to day onsite support for Head Office as well as possibly some travel to other North West locations for project based work such as IT and infrastructure installations and set up for new sites.

IT project involvement such as PC installations and new office set up, new technology rollouts.

As well as strong Microsoft Windows skills (Windows 10, Office 365, MS Exchange, Active Directory), we're looking for someone with a keen sense of service with excellent communications skills.  Someone who can be proactive not only in managing work but also how and what solutions you can provide, you will want to go “that extra mile”

Other skills:

  • You must have the ability to “think on your feet” and be able to deal positively will all situations, no matter how difficult
  • Good technical skills in fault diagnosis and kit repair (Desktop, laptop etc)
  • Good range of Desktop application and operating systems knowledge, Windows, Windows 8, Windows 10
  • MS Server skills desirable and server services exposure
  • Basic Active Directory and Exchange administration desirable but this will be taught for the right candidate
  • Exposure to Networking including switches, routers, DHCP, TCP/IP, DNS, cabling, firewalls etc
  • Incident or problem management (ITIL awareness)
