Are you a hands-on Manual QA Tester who enjoys taking ownership, solving problems and making sure systems work as they should?
We're looking for a Manual QA Tester to join an established organisation going through an exciting period of technology transformation. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently, collaborating with different teams and playing a key role in delivering reliable, high-quality applications.
Initially offered as a 12-month fixed-term contract, there is the intention to make the position permanent if it's the right fit for both sides.
The role
You'll take ownership of testing across a varied application landscape, helping ensure new developments, system changes and integrations are thoroughly tested before going live.
With demand increasing, they now need a dedicated tester who can establish a structured approach, drive testing forward and help minimise the risk of issues reaching production.
You'll work closely with developers, third-party suppliers and business stakeholders, with a particular focus on end-to-end workflows and integrations between internal applications and external systems.
What you'll be doing
- Developing test strategies, plans and scenarios aligned with business and technical requirements.
- Designing and executing manual test cases and scripts.
- Testing end-to-end business processes across internal applications, external platforms and third-party integrations.
- Carrying out API and data exchange testing.
- Managing defects, investigating issues and supporting root-cause analysis.
- Maintaining regression test suites to ensure changes don't introduce new issues.
- Working collaboratively with developers, vendors and business stakeholders to resolve defects.
- Maintaining clear test documentation and traceability against requirements.
- Managing competing priorities and ensuring testing is completed effectively throughout the software development lifecycle.
What we're looking for
We're looking for someone with strong manual testing experience who can take responsibility for the testing process and work confidently with minimal supervision.
You'll ideally have:
- Solid experience in manual QA testing across business or enterprise applications.
- Experience writing test plans, designing test cases and executing tests.
- A good understanding of integration testing, ideally involving APIs, third-party suppliers or external systems.
- Experience identifying, documenting and managing defects.
- An understanding of the software development lifecycle and Agile ways of working.
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A proactive approach, good organisation skills and the ability to manage changing priorities.
What would be a bonus?
Experience with Azure or other cloud environments, Azure DevOps, SQL and data validation would be beneficial. Exposure to test automation tools is also welcome, but automation experience isn't essential.
Experience working with complex business applications and supplier integrations.
What's on offer?
- Salary of up to £50,000.
- Initial 12-month fixed-term contract, with the potential to move into a permanent position.
- The opportunity to take ownership of testing and make a tangible difference to technology delivery.
