What you’ll be doing

This is a hands-on leadership role within a lean team structure. You’ll sit close enough to the tech to stay sharp, while owning the bigger picture.

Day to day, you’ll be:

• Leading and supporting a multi-level support team (1st to 3rd line)
• Owning escalations and ensuring issues are resolved properly, not just quickly
• Driving infrastructure projects, particularly cloud migrations and business integrations
• Working with stakeholders across multiple regions and time zones
• Continuously improving the environment rather than just maintaining it

There’s plenty happening—new acquisitions, ongoing migrations, and constant opportunities to modernise. You won’t be short of challenges, but they’re the right kind.

The tech landscape

This is a cloud-first environment, not one weighed down by legacy infrastructure.

You’ll be working across:

• Microsoft 365 ecosystem including Entra ID / Azure AD and Intune
• Azure infrastructure and services
• Cloud telephony platforms such as 8x8
• Modern endpoint management and device provisioning
• Backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning
• Migration of inherited on-prem systems into the cloud

There is some legacy from acquisitions, but the direction is clear: simplify, modernise, and move forward.

You’ll need to bring:

• Proven experience leading infrastructure or support teams
• Confidence in managing people, including the difficult conversations
• A strong technical background in cloud-first environments

What You’ll Be Doing…

• Own and deliver the systems strategy, ensuring platforms are scalable, secure and aligned to organisational priorities

The Opportunity

You’ll join at a pivotal moment.

The current data platform is being rebuilt, transitioning from legacy and mixed approaches into a modern, cloud-first architecture built on Azure Synapse and a medallion (bronze–silver–gold) design.

This isn’t a “keep the lights on” role. You’ll be:

• Designing and building scalable data pipelines from scratch
• Shaping how data is structured, governed, and used across the business
• Influencing technical direction and bringing in better ways of working
• Helping the organisation move towards predictive and insight-driven decision making

You’ll have genuine ownership and the space to challenge existing approaches and introduce best practice.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Building and optimising data pipelines using Azure Synapse (pipelines and notebooks)

Are you a hands-on technical specialist who enjoys supporting and developing others? This is an opportunity to step into a supervisory role where you’ll combine strong technical expertise with coaching, mentoring and team coordination.

You’ll act as a key escalation point for complex desktop and infrastructure issues while helping to shape a high-performing, customer-focused service desk team.

 The role

You’ll support the day-to-day running of a busy service desk, ensuring issues are prioritised, resolved efficiently and communicated clearly across the business.

Alongside this, you’ll play a key role in developing the team. This includes coaching, mentoring and helping individuals grow their capability, particularly around service delivery and customer experience.

You’ll also act as the technical escalation point for 2nd line desktop queries, taking ownership of more complex issues and ensuring they are resolved within agreed service levels.

 What you’ll be doing

• Acting as the go-to escalation point for technical issues across desktop and infrastructure
• Supporting and coordinating a team of service desk engineers
• Coaching and mentoring team members to improve performance and service delivery
• Managing and prioritising workloads to ensure SLAs are consistently met
• Communicating clearly with stakeholders across the business
• Identifying trends and areas for improvement within the service desk
• Playing a key role in ITIL-aligned processes, including incident and change management
• Supporting governance and contributing to technical design authority discussions where required

 What they’re looking for

• Strong technical background across Microsoft environments (Windows, Active Directory, Exchange)
• Experience supporting desktop environments and troubleshooting complex issues

• Experience working within an ITIL-based environment, particularly across incident management, change management and governance
• Exposure to or involvement in Technical Design Authority (TDA) or similar governance frameworks
